As a civil marriage celebrant, I spend a lot of time on each ceremony, ensuring it is right for you and that you are happy with the result. A celebrant fee is still one of the lesser costs of a ceremony of any kind. You will generally spend far more on drinks, or food, or clothes, or photography or flowers. Yet, the ceremony itself sets the atmosphere for the rest of your celebration. And even a simple ceremony may take a lot of preparation time to appear simple and elegant.

In exceptionally limited circumstances, I may be prepared to charge a lower fee, based on the merits of your situation. If I do negotiate a reduced fee for your wedding, you will be limited to a choice of three ceremonies and the ceremony will be conducted at my home, on a weekday or a Sunday only (no Saturdays).
